The death of a programmer, a poem

They said there were no more bugs
And started drinking beer by jugs
But he worked all day and night
He said something wasn’t right

He built the code and it did fine
He used a debugger to go line by line
We examined through the Hex dump
Till he developed a bad Hump

He updated the binaries and the source
Reciting the line numbers his voice got hoarse
He read the entire manual and all the books
He had covered every corner all the nooks

Exhausted with out food and sleep
He got demented and started to weep
He said something was very wrong
That he felt that feeling very strong

One day on his desk he lay dead
Zero bugs was what his console read
When his wife was broken the news of his fate
She smiled and said he is just working late
